DESIGN STRATEGIES

This learning outcome focus in the concept that designing and redesigning communication in technical contexts should be applied using flexible strategies. Additionally, this implementation should have a direct link to visual design, as its main purpose is to present and discuss design strategies.

An example for this learning outcome is the entire project 2. However, besides focusing in design strategies, project 2 also covers the other SLO’s namely: Collaborate and Accommodate, Info and Tech, Growth Process, and ethics.

Since my main purpose in this particular SLO is to demonstrate how design was applied, I am focusing on it solely.

Designing can be confusing for many people, specially people who have never had any experience at all dealing with it. For that reason, we were asked in some assignments to analyze previous designs focusing on the materials we were learning in class. For instance, on assignment DD8HW4: Analyze Examples of Instructions as Rhetorical Situations, we were asked to analyze the audience, author, purpose, context, genre, & media/delivery of those examples and it was very effective because we used those analizes on the project we later created and presented as project 2.
