At the beginning of this class I was very confident about my writing, however, I came to realization that I needed some improvement in some areas. I was not aware of how much a professional needed to be proficient in communication in professional contexts.

It was only in a matter of the first assignments that I realized that technical writing is one of the most, if not the most important skill a professional must have and apply accordingly. It helps to improve the workplace in technical terms and most importantly, the communication between technicians becomes easier.

 

In project #1, I learned about writing memos, which was a very new skill for me. Memos helped me understand that certain hundred pages projects can be understood in a matter of 5 minutes after reading a good memo of it. For instance, In project one, my team and I wrote a project proposal that included a memo to the company we were creating a collaborative technology improvement. Similarly, on project #2 I wrote a memo to the instructor about the technology I would be using for my technical instructions. Both of the examples above are reflections of the growth process as professional communication in professional contexts.
